In February of 2017, Angel was barely 1month old when she was found wandering on the side of a busy road in India all alone. She looked very malnourished and had an infestation of ticks all over her body. Although the rescuers found a foster home for her quickly, they did not take good care of her so Angel did not feel like she was safe and loved yet. Luckily, within a month, she found an adopter in India who was enthusiastic in taking care of her and treating her like their own kiddo. Unfortunately, the family quickly changed their minds, and in one short week, were ready to just leave her on the street. Angel ended up moving into a temp foster home for about 2 months and after that, to another shelter for several months until she was about 1 year old. Her first year on this earth was full of ups and downs, and she did not know what it is like to be loved and cared for for a very long time…
Fast forward to now, her mom says Angel (now named India) is doing so much better. “It took a while, as expected, with all the bad memories from the first year of India’s life. But she is so much more confident and happier and trusting (except when it’s bathtime; she runs straight for the front door!). I’m so happy she feels safe now and enjoys being on the farm and protecting the property. We are blessed to have each other.” India and her loving forever family live on a farm in Bend, Oregon.
