This week, we are going all the way back to the very first year our organization was established. Simba was dog #9 for Street Dog Hero. Fortunately, he didn’t have the rough start that most of the SDH dogs have. He lived with a family in Sayulita, Mexico, however, the family could no longer care for him because he was getting too big for their home. After being surrendered to a local rescue organization, Simba arrived in Bend in May, 2017.

He is now Rocky, and here is his pupdate!

“We weren’t sure we were ready for a new dog since we had recently lost our Great Dane mix after 12 awesome years.  But it’s so hard to say no when you see all the adorable faces of SDH rescues!  Marianne brought Rocky over to our house in May of 2017 and we fell in love. He was about 5 months old when he joined our family and since then, he has more than doubled in size.  We wanted a big dog so it all worked out, and we’ve been pretty lucky because he’s been such a great dog right from the start!  Rocky gets along with everyone and makes us laugh everyday.  He’s such a goofball!  He has toys all over the house and continues to play with them even after he’s destroyed them. When we lived in Bend, Rocky loved the snow. Now that we moved to Arizona, he enjoys soaking up the warm sunshine that he was used to in Mexico.  We can’t thank SDH enough for all their hard work and dedication to saving so many dogs and in turn bringing so much love and joy to so many people.  This month we celebrate 5 years with our Rocky!” – Rocky’s mom
